1.Scientifically select water
In order to choose high-quality and pollution-free water sources, the site selection of pig farms should be done at the beginning of the construction of large-scale pig farms . Relatively quiet and remote areas such as food processing plants and chemical plants. Use groundwater wherever possible. If surface water is used as the water source, the water intake should be upstream of the pig farm's own and the sewage discharges in the industrial or residential areas, and should be kept far away. The water intake should be established near the center of the lake or river. If the water can only be taken near the shore, a filter well capable of filtering the water should be constructed; when constructing the water supply system, the disinfection method of drinking water should be considered. Generally, the water can be disinfected in a water tower or a reservoir. Before water supply, the local water quality must be strictly tested, and the water quality must meet the requirements of the pollution-free livestock and poultry drinking water standard (NY5027-2001). Take a pig farm that produces 10,000 heads per year, for example, which requires at least 100 tons of water per day. If the water supply is insufficient, it will seriously affect the normal production and life of the pig farm. So for a 10,000 pig farm, the water output of wells is more than 10 tons per hour.
2. Establish a scientific automatic water supply system
There should be at least three sets of water supply systems for large-scale pig farms , namely a set of automatic drinking water supply system for pigs, a system for cleaning and disinfecting water in pighouses with pressurized equipment, and a system of health water for feeding and drinking water for pigs.
The automatic drinking water supply system can realize that pigs can immediately drink clean and sufficient drinking water when needed to ensure the normal growth and development of the pigs; the pig house washing and disinfection water system with pressurized equipment can efficiently complete the cleaning and disinfection of the pig farm Work and can be used for spray cooling in summer to reduce heat stress in pigs. The health water system can easily complete the drug prevention and health care or disease prevention tasks of pigs in different periods, reduce the adverse stress on pigs caused by turning, environment, and epidemic diseases, and improve the immune resistance of pigs.
If the method of separating flushing water and drinking water is used, since the amount of flushing water is mainly considered, after general purification and disinfection treatment and simple water quality monitoring, a large amount of ground water can be used, which can save the cost of water.
3. Use new water supply pipes and drinking water equipment
All pig farm supply and demand pipelines are recommended to use PVC pipes. Such pipes are not only easy to install and manage, but also clean and sanitary. They are strong and durable, do not rust and corrode, and there are fewer pipeline blockages. In production, in order to prevent the severe winter cold from affecting the water supply of large-scale pig farms, PVC water pipe passages should be laid in the shed or 20-1000px underground, and water pipe inspection openings should be set up at each major node of the pipeline to facilitate Inspect and maintain water pipelines. Drinking equipment generally includes various types of drinking equipment (ru-head drinking fountains, cup drinking fountains, duckbill drinking fountains, large automatic drinking troughs, etc.), and also includes drinking towers, pressure tanks, water filters and other related supporting facilities . It is required that the water supply facilities are complete and reasonably installed. At the same time, regular maintenance of water supply pipelines, water supply equipment and drinking water equipment shall be done to reduce "run, run, drip, leak" and save water.
4.Ensure water supply and temperature
In order to ensure the healthy growth of the herd of pigs, it is necessary to ensure the supply of water. This requires that different types of pigs and drinking fountains be used for pigs at different stages, and the number, height and position of drinking fountains installed It should also be reasonable so that pigs can drink water scientifically and reduce water waste.
The installation height of drinking fountains is generally 5cm higher than the shoulder joint of pigs. For suckling piglets, weaned piglets, piglets, middle pigs, and large pigs, install one drinking fountain with one height and one low, or install drinking equipment with adjustable height to facilitate different sizes All pigs can drink water.
When the whole herd is fed with drinking water, the temperature of the water supply should also be strictly required. Generally, drinking water temperature is generally controlled between 10 ℃ -30 ℃, and suckling piglets are controlled between 22 ℃ -37 ℃. The test proves that drinking water at 30 ℃ can significantly improve the daily water intake and the apparent phosphorus digestibility of dietary piglets, and significantly reduce the feedwater ratio of weaned piglets. The proper water temperature will help the pigs to drink more water and ensure the safe and healthy production of pigs .
5. Regularly check the water quality and strengthen the disinfection of water supply to ensure the safety of water supply on the pig farm
The underground or surface drinking water provided to large-scale pig farms must be regularly checked for water quality, generally at least once every six months. For drinking water that does not meet the requirements, it must be disinfected and treated in time. Can only be used under certain circumstances.
