A temperature sensor is a sensor that can sense temperature and convert it into an output signal. Temperature sensors are the core components of temperature measuring instruments and have a wide variety. According to the measurement method, it can be divided into two types: contact temperature sensor and non-contact temperature sensor. According to the characteristics of materials and electronic components, it is divided into two types: thermal resistance and thermocouple.
Contact temperature sensor
Good contact between the detection element of the contact temperature sensor and the measured object. It achieves thermal equilibrium state through conduction or convection, so that the display value of the thermometer can directly indicate the temperature of the measured object.
2. Non-contact temperature sensor
The non-contact temperature sensor's sensitive elements are not in contact with the measured object.This sensor is generally used to measure the surface temperature of moving objects, small targets and objects with small heat capacity or rapid temperature changes.It can also be used to measure the temperature distribution of the temperature field .
3. Thermal resistance temperature sensor
Thermal resistance temperature sensor is a kind of sensor that uses the principle that the resistance value of a conductor or semiconductor changes with its temperature. For different conductors (semiconductors), the resistance value changes every time the temperature changes by one degree, and the resistance value can be directly used as an output signal.
A thermocouple is a circuit composed of two conductors with different components. When the junction temperature is different, a thermoelectromotive force is generated in the circuit. This phenomenon is called the thermoelectric effect. This electromotive force is called thermoelectric potential. Among them, one end that is directly used to measure the temperature of the medium is called the measurement end, and the other end is called the compensation end; the compensation end is connected to the display instrument, and the display instrument will indicate the thermoelectromotive force generated by the thermocouple. Thermocouples made from different materials are used in different temperature ranges, and their sensitivity is also different. The metal material used to make the thermocouple must have good ductility, so the thermocouple temperature measuring element has extremely fast response speed, which can measure the process of rapid temperature change.
